PumpEng Powers Up: David Choy appointed as Key Account Manager
New Role Reflects Company Growth
PumpEng is excited to announce the creation of a new role dedicated to strengthening our partnerships and customer relationships, with David Choy stepping into the inaugural position of Key Account Manager. This development underscores the significant growth we've experienced, expanding from one or two business partners to six or seven authorised service agents and partners across Australia and beyond.
Key Responsibilities and Focus
In this brand-new position, David will focus on building long-term relationships with our key accounts, authorised service agents, and business partners. His responsibilities include providing day-to-day support, ensuring seamless communication, and acting as a single point of contact to deliver the next level of service. By championing our partners' needs, David will help them navigate challenges, streamline processes, and align with The PumpEng Way, ultimately enabling them to serve their clients more effectively.
Proven Experience and Track Record
David's extensive experience makes him ideally suited for this role. With a lifetime of building rapport and fostering customer relationships, he brings a proven track record of dedication and reliability. Previously, Dave served as a Service Delivery Manager at Unisys, where he coordinated teams to provide optimal support to major clients, including Sitech and Pivot International. At PumpEng, he has already demonstrated his value through instrumental work with accounts such as Dugald River and Cannington, as well as supporting recent launches, including our partnership with Blackley Pipelines & Irrigation in Tasmania.
Leadership Perspective
"Dave's strongest quality is his ability to walk the journey with our partners and customers," says Matt, PumpEng's Business Development Manager. "He's not distracted by other duties or day-to-day operations; he's fully focused on making sure they get the support they need to succeed."
Addressing Industry Challenges
This role directly addresses the realities of our industry, where labour shortages and logistical barriers, such as water crossings to Tasmania or New Zealand, can hinder service. By empowering local partners with PumpEng's expertise and resources, we ensure that mining clients receive prompt, professional dewatering solutions without bureaucratic hurdles. Partners benefit from technical training, marketing support, and tailored strategies that enhance their efficiency and confidence in our brand. In turn, end-users gain reliable, eco-friendly pumps backed by a network that's available and committed.
"Whether it's clarifying wiring details on a purchase order or coordinating with our factory to avoid delays, I ensure our clients get what they need on time as planned. When processes run smoothly, our partners can confidently promote PumpEng products, knowing we're behind them every step."
David's Vision for the Role
Commitment to Personal Service
This appointment reflects PumpEng's client-focused values and our commitment to personal service in an era where impersonal interactions are all too common. Unlike many businesses that push customers to automated systems, we're doubling down on human connection—because we know that understanding your needs and delivering on them is what builds lasting trust.
Looking Forward
As an OEM specialising in tough submersible dewatering pumps, PumpEng continues to innovate for the mining, construction, and industrial sectors. With Dave leading our partnership efforts, we're poised for even greater success, ensuring that our clients and team members alike can count on us to empower a good day at work.
